For Mike Downs, building fences isn't just a job—it's a family tradition that's been passed down through three generations. Growing up in Bells, Texas, Mike learned the trade from his grandfather and uncles, gaining hands-on experience long before he started his own company. Those early lessons taught him that a fence should be built with honesty, quality materials, and craftsmanship that stands the test of time.
​Today, more than 25 years later, Mike continues that tradition by personally building every fence himself—never relying on subcontractors or rotating crews. Every project reflects the same values his family instilled in him: hard work, attention to detail, and treating every customer's property with the same care and respect as his own.
​It's a commitment to quality that has earned the trust of homeowners across North Texas since 2002.
After graduating from high school, Mike proudly served four years and three months in the United States Army, including service with the elite 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Following his military service, he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M University–Commerce and completed an additional 10 hours of graduate coursework.
Before returning to his family's fencing roots, Mike worked in both public accounting with a regional CPA firm and financial accounting in Dallas, Texas.
​The discipline, integrity, and attention to detail developed through his military and business experience continue to shape the way he serves homeowners and builds every fence today.
Mike and his wife, Jennifer, have built their lives around faith, family, and serving others. Together, they are raising three boys and are active members of the Holiness Church of Jesus Christ in Whitesboro, Texas.
Family has always been at the center of everything Mike does, and the same values he lives by at home—honesty, hard work, integrity, and treating people with respect—are the values he brings to every fence he builds.

Mike Downs still builds fences in Sherman because this is home. Born and raised in North Texas, Mike comes from a family with deep roots in the Texoma area. His family has lived here for generations, and the people, communities, and values of North Texas have shaped who he is.
Mike builds fences because he genuinely loves building fences. He loves serving the Sherman community, building relationships, providing exceptional service at a fair price, and ending each day knowing he helped a local family improve and protect their property. His church, his friends, and his community are all here, and there's no place he'd rather live or work.
